The Rats in the Rock

Here’s a poem called “The Rats in the Rock” for today. Enjoy!
The gold and orange leaves snapped and crackled,
As the snake slithered along it’s path,
Through the leaves, crinkled.
The snake slithered on a well traveled way,
This fine, colorful, day,
To a certain, shining, silver rock,
In which was discovered with a shock,
Was infested with rats.
The colorful snake had never heard,
Such fat, noisy, rats,
Under the rock,
So this happened to be a lovely shock.
The hungry snake soon got over the wonderful, succulent, shock,
About the juicy rats under the shiny rock,
And enjoyed a delicious feast.
